Sonic Adventure 2 – Crazy Gadget

Ahh Crazy Gadget… often deemed the most difficult stage in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle… After playing the game for awhile quite frankly, I disagree. After all the craziness that is Hero Story so far… the game ends off with a good-sized streak of Sonicy quickness… and adds a dash of insanity. XD Seriously… whoever comes up with these sorts of levels must be on something… XD On one’s first play through the game… Crazy Gadget tends to be a nightmare. I believe this is, more or less, because it throws a lot of stuff at you that you don’t see in any other stage. This can easily throw a new player off and cause them to screw up… a lot. With experience though, the stage becomes quite simple. Getting the hang of the weird camera and glitchy gravity is all it takes for you to easily zip through the stage! I find glitchier stages, such as Final Chase, to be more difficult than this, simply because I never know when one of the gravity pillars are going to decide to be unfriendly, glitch up, and send me to my death… Crazy Gadget is a bit more controlled. More on the actual stage though… There are a lot of abusable glitches and shortcut techniques for those who want to practice them… I only tend to use a couple shortcuts as I like my points, and I play the stage the way that feels the most fun to me. XD I’ll leave the crazy under-three-minute times to those who like abusing game glitches (and for those who prefer not to get A ranks… XD). Featuring such things as

Just received the Olympus 45mm f/1.8 lens.

My first impression:
The lens is well made—has similar built like the 12mm but does not have the snap (manual) focus with distance scale. The filter thread is the same as the 14-42 kit lens. In other words, the lens diameter is quite small, 37mm compared to 12mm f/2 filter thread of 46mm. The physical length of the lens is very close to the 12mmm f/2 lens which is about twice as long as the Panasonic 20/1.7 lens; so, it makes the camera definitely not pocketable. The focus ring is smooth and turns easily but not too loose. I guess there’s really no use for manual focus since autofocus is fast, and silent.

Performance:
Since I’ve shot probably close to or around 50-60 shots with this lens, I can’t make any conclusions as to how it really performs. I would need to shoot a lot more. Meanwhile, here’s my take on what I experience and saw:

It’s marketed as "portrait" lens. Obviously, it could be used for just about anything from landscape to portrait.
Wide open (f 1.8), it’s sharp from edge to edge, with great contrast and amazing zuiko colors.
Focus is quick and accurate (with E-P3) in daytime. Focus speed may be slightly slower in low light interior but it was able to lock focus without hunting . Focus accuracy is great; I typical shoot with spot focus (center). I believe it focuses as fast as the 12mm; but I honestly can’t tell the difference since they both auto focus extremely fast.
Bokeh looks quite nice at f/1.8.

Needles to say, shooting 85-90mm fast lens with a full frame camera, for example, Canon EF 85/1.8 lens with 5D Mk2 will give you a MUCH shallower depth of field and softer and nicer out of focus areas you won’t get from the Oly 45 f/1.8 lens. Again, it’s comparing apple and oranges, and, is quite unfair. It would be like comparing full frame to medium format; each has their own straights and weaknesses.
